NOLA-TOON: A Documentary in the making

Toronto embraces New Orleans, and in the process we do some soul-searching of our own:

  • Is Toronto fundamentally different, or is it just a question of degree?
  • Do all urban societies inevitably march towards corruption and social disintegration?
  • What effect do economic upgrades have on the social fabric of an area?
  • Do we have a tendency to sweep problems under the rug so we don't have to face them as we hurry by?

                       Why

                                                                                                                                            Care?

NOLA-TOON features highlights from the first post-Katrina Mardi Gras, the Lower 9th Ward devastation, and Toronto's downtown and Regent Park developments. We examine the role a vibrant arts community plays in the health of urban environments. Interviews with the "movers and shakers" of both cities illuminate these issues.

We're collecting recipes for change. It's up to us to start cooking.
